The King of Leisure is a burgeoning lifestyle brand created in the Centennial state. Our anchor product, the Winston, the best camp bootie - is an indoor/outdoor, synthetic slipper. With Winston as our spirit animal, the King of Leisure aims to keep campers’ paws warm and in superior comfort.

Meet the king.

Jason Bonanno

The year was 2002. I was an unpaid intern at an international microfinance (“do-good-er”) corporation in Boston. HQ just happened to be an awesome brownstone in the Back Bay. After the work whistle blew one summer evening, we congregated on the roof to chef up some sausage and burgers. As I amazed my compadres with some primo grilling skills, boss man blurted out, “How’d you make these sausages so good?” I replied, “I par-boiled them, of course”. Since then the CEO referred to me as the King of Leisure around the office. Ultimately, at even the earliest stage of my career, I was just living more by doing less (or as I later justified to my bank bosses – working smarter, not harder). This is now the ethos of King of Leisure footwear and I’m my own boss. 

Born out of necessity, I just could never find the perfect camping shoe, so I’m building my own. Part shoe/part bootie/part slipper – our Winston shoe is as awesome as the dog (King Charles Cavalier Spaniel) it’s named after.
